Ice cream is not just a treat for children, it’s something that us adults also like to enjoy too, from the traditional 99 to a knickerbocker glory, there is always something that tickles the taste buds.  We have put together a list of some of our favourite ice cream parlours, that we have enjoyed and visited as we have been out on our travels with the motorhome.

  • Giacopazzis

This is a must stop for those looking for a treat if they are in the Eyemouth area, they are an award-winning ice cream shop, they have been producing ice cream for generations with the same passion and love as Lorenzo Giacopazzi.  With a range of flavours and toppings you will not be spoilt for choice.

  • The Ice Cream Shop

If you are in the Cullen area on the Moray Firth Coast, a stop at the ice cream shop for a treat is worth a visit not only do you have the choice of ice cream but the sweety shop sells traditional boiled sweets from Jars.

  • Aunt Betty’s

While in Stonehaven pop into Aunt Bettys they have a range of ice cream and sweets shop, you can have a walk along the promenade and sit and enjoy the ice cream while appreciate the sculptures.

  • Gelato

After a visit to the seafood shack, we would recommend a visit to Gelato and treat yourself to an ice cream to finish your meal. The Gelato is handmade on the premises in Ullapool.

  • Stewart Tower Dairy

Not far from us you will find the dairy farm on the outskirts of Perth, the milk from their dairy heard is used to make Italian style gelato ice cream, the café offers you the opportunity to sit in and enjoy a range of desserts and ice cream sundaes.

  • Janetta’s Gelateria

There is no perfect location to enjoy an ice cream than St Andrews, Janetta has a huge range of traditional and contemporary flavours and is a short walk from the beach front.  This is a busy ice cream shop so expect to have to queue.

  • Orkney Ice Cream

A family run business since 1949, all the milk comes from the Orkneys 17 milk co-operative dairy farms, the cream from the dairy is used for making the ice cream with the milk going to supply the homes of the residents.

  • Visocchis

A family business in Broughty Ferry run by the Caira family since 1954, they have a further store in Kirriemuir selling the same delicious ice cream they have done for years.
